Pronounced “wine-guard” it translates to wine garden and is a descriptive word for vineyard.
Originating from Middle Dutch, Wijngaardt is a surname that reflects the melting pot of cultures defining South Africa. Dutch influence is inherent in South African culture, found in our architecture, local foods, and the Afrikaans language.
Inspiration
Our brand is deeply inspired by the talents of our founder’s mother, Patricia. A naturally gifted seamstress, she was always creating clothing for family and friends. Her career eventually evolved into crafting leather goods—a venture that would serve as a lifeline for her family. She refined her skills over many years, becoming a muse for anyone lucky enough to use her services or own one of her creations.
